What Artists, film-makers, musicians and writers from across the globe descend upon the city for five days of performances, screenings and talks. Titled Surrender, the 2012 event will be held in venues including the Theatre Royal, ESAV Film School and Djemaa el-Fna square.
Don't miss The main arts exhibition, titled Higher Atlas, will be held at El Badi Palace. As well as suggesting 'a cartography of the beyond', the title also refers to the Atlas Mountains, which are visible from the 16th-century palace. Besides the biennale? The Koutoubia Mosque is a must-visit for its mighty 69m high minaret - a masterpiece of Islamic art. Access inside is denied to non-Muslims, but one of the doors on the east wall is always open and you can peek through. marrakechbiennale.org

performances and installations.
Don't miss The details are being kept firmly under wraps, but we've been told that the 'experimental and context-specific exhibition' at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin's Mitte District is a must-see.
Besides the biennale? Nab a table at Grill Royal (grillroyal.com), an art-themed restaurant buzzing with local artists and collectors. It's renowned for its steaks, views of the Spree and witty art collection (look out for the papier mâché shark jaws en route to the ladies' room).

What Every two years, a guest curator - next year it's Glasgow-born Anne Barlow - is selected to gather an array of artists, who collaborate to put on this fiercely ambitious festival of contemporary art. Incorporating film screenings and educational programmes, it avoids 'art spaces', and is instead held in universities and public sites across the city.
Don't miss The line-up has yet to be announced, but previous headliners have included Yoko Ono and Romania's own Lia Perjovschi. The venues are expected to include the National Geology Museum, Botanical Gardens, National Centre of Dance and Herăstrău Skate Park.
Besides the biennale? Head to the Velvet Underground, a club and wine bar inspired by the Pop Art concept (the owner is a fan of Andy Warhol) and filled with modern art. The music ranges from hip-hop and funk to golden oldies.

Mighty Lake Manasasarovara.
Lake Manasarovar lies at 4,556 m (14947.5 ft) above mean sea level, making it the highest freshwater lake in the world.[1] It is relatively round in shape with the circumference of 88 kilometres (55 mi). Its depth is 90 m (300 ft) and its surface area is 320 square kilometres (120 sq mi). It is connected to nearby Lake Rakshastal by the natural Ganga Chhu channel. Manasarovar is the source of the Sutlej River which is the easternmost large tributary of the Indus. Nearby are the sources of the Brahmaputra River, the Indus River, and the Karnali River (Ghaghara) which is an important tributary of the Ganges River, so this region is the hydrographic nexus of the Himalaya.
In Hinduism
As per Hindu theology, Lake Manasa Sarovar is a personification of purity, and one who drinks water from the lake will go to the Abode of Lord Shiva after death. He is believed to be cleansed of all his sins committed over even a hundred lifetimes.
Like Mount Kailash, Lake Manasa Sarovar is a place of pilgrimage, attracting religious people from India, Nepal, Tibet and the neighboring countries. Bathing in the Manasa Sarovar and drinking its water is believed to cleanse all sins. Pilgrimage tours are organized regularly, especially from India, the most famous of which is the Kailash Manasa Sarovar Yatra which takes place every year. Pilgrims come to take ceremonial baths in the cleansing waters of the lake.
Manasa Sarovar lake has long been viewed by the pilgrims as the source of four of the greatest rivers of Asia namely Brahmaputra, Karnali, Indus and Sutlej. So it is an axial point which has been thronged by pilgrims for thousands of years. The region was initially closed to pilgrims from outside and no foreigners were allowed between 1949 and 1980. But after the 80s it has again become a part of the Indian pilgrim trail.
According to Hindu religion, the lake was first created in the mind of the Lord Brahma after which it manifested on Earth.[3] Hence, in Sanskrit it is called "Manas sarovara", which is a combination of the words manas (mind) and sarovara (lake). The lake, in Hindu religious belief, is also supposed to be the summer abode of Hamsa goose. Considered to be sacred, the Hamsa is an important element in the symbology of the subcontinent, representing wisdom and beauty.
Buddhism
Buddhists also associate the lake to the legendary lake known as Anavatapta in Sanskrit and Anotatta in Pali, where Queen Maya is believed to have conceived Buddha. The lake has a few monasteries on its shores. The most notable of which is the ancient Chiu Gompa Monastery, which has been built right onto a steep hill. It looks as if it has been carved right out of the rock. Lake is very popular in Buddhist literature and associate with many teachings and stories in Buddhism. Lord Buddha used to stay and meditate near this great lake for several occasions. It is a saying that famous Uturu-kuru divaina (island or mountain range) was nearby the Anavatapta vila. However, more evidence show that Uturu-kuru divaina was Kuril islands kuril islands, as the sanskrit meaning of Uturu-kuru is Nothern-men as Kur meaning man, in Ainu language. Lake Manasarovar is also the subject of the meditative Tibetan tradition "The Jewel Tree of Tibet".

Untitled Space Abstract -Supernova Series I
Untitled Space Abstract -Supernova Series I
Size: 60x90 cms,
Medium: Acrylics on canvas,
Year of Creation: 2011.
C P B Prasad, Artist, -Thanks.
I thought you all might like my new series of paintings, Paint flying out of the canvas.
Supernovae are extremely luminous and cause a burst of radiation that often briefly outshines an entire galaxy, before fading from view over several weeks or months. During this short interval a supernova can radiate as much energy as the Sun is expected to emit over its entire life span. The explosion expels much or all of a star's material at a velocity of up to 30,000 km/s (10% of the speed of light), driving a shock wave into the surrounding interstellar medium. This shock wave sweeps up an expanding shell of gas and dust called a supernova remnant.
Role in stellar evolution
The remnant of a supernova explosion consists of a compact object and a rapidly expanding shock wave of material. This cloud of material sweeps up the surrounding interstellar medium during a free expansion phase, which can last for up to two centuries. The wave then gradually undergoes a period of adiabatic expansion, and will slowly cool and mix with the surrounding interstellar medium over a period of about 10,000 years.[99]
The Big Bang produced hydrogen, helium, and traces of lithium, while all heavier elements are synthesized in stars and supernovae. Supernovae tend to enrich the surrounding interstellar medium with metals—elements other than hydrogen and helium.
These injected elements ultimately enrich the molecular clouds that are the sites of star formation. Thus, each stellar generation has a slightly different composition, going from an almost pure mixture of hydrogen and helium to a more metal-rich composition. Supernovae are the dominant mechanism for distributing these heavier elements, which are formed in a star during its period of nuclear fusion, throughout space. The different abundances of elements in the material that forms a star have important influences on the star's life, and may decisively influence the possibility of having planets orbiting it.
The kinetic energy of an expanding supernova remnant can trigger star formation due to compression of nearby, dense molecular clouds in space.[101] The increase in turbulent pressure can also prevent star formation if the cloud is unable to lose the excess energy.
Evidence from daughter products of short-lived radioactive isotopes shows that a nearby supernova helped determine the composition of the Solar System 4.5 billion years ago, and may even have triggered the formation of this system. Supernova production of heavy elements over astronomic periods of time ultimately made the chemistry of life on Earth possible.

I have created a series of paintings on space and its mysteries. Every time I look up at night, I think I am too small in this vast and unknown universe. In this fast world, we some time forget to look around at day and as well at night. I think the painting will help us look life at a new perspective.

If we look at the Universe, there are so many unanswered questions, most of the facts and figures scientists put in their theory are their own views. Many a times very difficult to prove what they say. I believe that Universe is so big that if we go to the end of 13.8 billion light years, we should be able to see another 13.8 billion light years, just by sitting on a small planet earth, how could we say, every thing on this universe was created only in a Big Bang. May be if i learn more about Big Bang theory than i could comment more. For many years scientists been telling that any Gamma ray burst should end all life on earth. Just think how illusionary this life on this planet is. (Just think about the people who accumulate so much wealth by cheating others).
